Leaders in professional training:
Course: Value Stream Map
The course Value Stream Map is designed to help companies analyze and improve their processes by clearly visualizing value flow. Through the use of Value Stream Map, participants will identify waste, bottlenecks, excessive cycle times and uncontrolled inventories affecting operational performance. This methodology focuses improvement efforts on activities that create real value for the organization.
During the course, participants will understand the foundations of Value Stream Map, its objectives and benefits, as well as the different types of maps that can be applied in the company. Participants will learn to build the VSM by identifying its components and using key value chain metrics such as Takt time, lead time and cycle time. Through practical examples, a current-state VSM will be developed to visualize actual process flow and identify improvement opportunities.
The course also addresses the construction of Value Stream Map Future, providing tools for designing improvement scenarios and defining actions to optimize processes. By the end, participants will have a clear methodology for applying the Value Stream Map in their company, driving continuous improvement and generating sustainable results directly affecting operations.
Our in-person and live virtual courses are designed for groups of at least 15 people. If you require this training for a small group (1 to 4 people) or individually, click the following button to get to know the available options:
Course objectives
Understanding the Value Stream Map Foundations
First, participants will understand what the Value Stream Map and the importance of creating value stream maps within the company. They will also learn VSM's concepts, objectives and benefits, and its impact on process improvement and organizational value creation.
Identification of Inefficiencies and Bottlenecks
They will also learn how to analyse current processes by using Value Stream Map, identifying excessive cycle times, uncontrolled work-in-process inventory and bottlenecks. Participants can visualize actual process flow and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Application of VSM Metrics and Elements
Participants will also learn to use the elements that make up a VSM, as well as the Value Chain Metrics how Takt time, lead time and cycle time. Consequently, they will have a solid basis for measuring the performance of their processes and making informed decisions.
Developing Current and Future VSM
Finally, participants will develop the skills necessary to draw a Current and future VSM, understanding the key questions and process stages. They will gain practical tools to apply Value Stream Mapping to their own processes and generate sustainable improvements within the company.
Results of the Course
Efficient analysis of Company Processes
By the end of the course, participants will conduct a detailed analysis of their processes using a Value Stream Map, identifying value-adding activities and those that represent waste. They will gain a clear picture of the actual process flow and areas for improvement.
Mastery of tools for the production of VSM
Participants will also master the tools needed to build a Value Stream Map, understanding its elements, key metrics such as Takt Time, Lead Time and Cycle Time, and the stages of its development. They will therefore be able to create value stream maps in a structured way applicable to their workplace.
Identification of Bottlenecks and Inefficiencies
Participants will also identify bottlenecks, excessive cycle times and excess inventory within their processes. They will recognize critical points affecting operational performance and know where to focus improvement efforts.
Development of a Future-State VSM and Continuous Improvement
Finally, participants will be able to build a future-state VSM, visualizing improvement scenarios and defining actions to optimize processes. They will drive continuous improvement and facilitate decisions aimed at increasing efficiency and value within the company.
Who is it intended for?
Management, heads and supervisors seeking to analyze and improve departmental processes by identifying value-adding activities and eliminating waste.
Department Heads, Coordinators and Middle Managers Those responsible for managing production and / or operational processes, that require tools to identify bottle necks, excessive cycle times and unchecked inventories.
Operating and administrative personnel that participates in the conduct of processes and wants to understand the flow of value to improve efficiency and daily performance.
Professionals in General that seek to generate value processes in your company and apply Value Stream Map as a practical tool for continuous improvement.
