Course: Standard Work

Leaders in professional training:

Standard Work Course: Documentation and Standardization of Industrial Processes

At JS Training & Consulting, we have developed our standardized work course, specifically designed to transform your organization's ability to document and standardize processes. This program comprehensively addresses the needs of production, maintenance, quality and operations staff, from creating understandable documents to eliminating “documentitis.” It therefore offers a complete solution for companies seeking to improve productivity through genuinely useful documentation systems.

This standardized work course offers practical tools and a proven methodology for designing, documenting and implementing sustainable standard methods in industrial operations. Participants learn to apply metrics such as Takt Time, Cycle Time and Lead Time; use analytical techniques including Pareto charts, cause-and-effect diagrams and worker–machine process charts; and analyze operations with attention to job design and plant layout. The course also promotes effective implementation of standardized work through techniques such as SMED, reduced documentation time and clear documents that meet quality requirements. The result is more productive organizations with useful documentation systems that eliminate “documentitis” and establish a clear path to continuous process improvement.

Our in-person and live virtual courses are designed for groups of at least 15 people. If you require this training for a small group (1 to 4 people) or individually, click the following button to get to know the available options:

Course objectives

Reduction of Documentation Times

First, participants will significantly reduce process documentation and update times, implementing techniques to eliminate “documentitis.” They can create documentation systems that are genuinely useful and understandable to all users.

Standardisation methods and techniques

Participants will also learn different documentation techniques, such as process diagrams, man-machine charts, and operations analysis. They will thereby understand each method’s advantages and disadvantages. Consequently, they will select the most suitable technique for the specific needs of each process.

Implementing Sustainable Standard Work

They will also apply standardized work metrics such as Takt Time, Cycle Time and Lead Time to optimize productivity. They will design sustainable standardized work systems and learn tools such as SMED to reduce changeover times and improve operational efficiency.

Requirement compliance and continuous improvement

Finally, participants will create documentation that effectively meets customer requirements and develop a clear path for continuously improving the documentation process. They will then apply problem-solving techniques such as Pareto and cause-and-effect diagrams, establishing clear standards that facilitate training and ensure quality throughout operations.

Results at the end of the course

Creating Powerful Speeches

First, the participant will learn how to create strong and well structured discourse and will master the design of professional and dynamic presentations and will thus be able to communicate his or her ideas with more impact and clarity.

Mastery of Public Speaking Techniques

You will also learn and apply specialized techniques for speaking naturally in public. You will use your voice, intonation and strategic pauses effectively, and learn to use visual feedback to adjust your speech in real time.

Effective Verbal and Nonverbal Communication

Participants will also master verbal and nonverbal communication during presentations, using gestures, posture and proxemics to reinforce their message and build greater audience connection and credibility.

Handling Difficult Audiences

You will also gain practical tools for managing groups and difficult audiences. You will learn improvisation techniques for unexpected situations, maintaining control and confidence even in challenging scenarios.

Strategic Use of Emotions

Finally, participants will use emotional intelligence and humor strategically in presentations and create effective endings that make the message stick. They will deliver memorable, persuasive presentations, developing a professional, trustworthy stage presence.
