Course objectives
Understanding the Environment and Risks of Working at Height
First, participants understand the environment in which work at height takes place and the inherent risks. They learn the basic concepts and their impact on staff safety, enabling them to recognize hazardous conditions consciously and understand the importance of appropriate preventive measures.
Understanding NOM 009 STPS Requirements and Responsibilities
They will also learn the guidelines established in NOM 009 STPS, including employers' and workers' obligations when working at height. They will understand the general safety measures needed to comply with current regulations and carry out their activities in line with legal requirements and occupational safety best practices.
Identifying Types of Work at Height and Safety Measures
They will also identify different types of work at height, including roofing, scaffolding, ladders, elevating platforms and rope-access work. They will recognize the main risks associated with each type and the specific safety measures required. In particular, they will learn to prevent falls by identifying unsafe acts and conditions.
Correct Use of Personal Protective Equipment and Fall Prevention
Finally, participants will learn about personal protective equipment for working at height, including harnesses, lifelines, shock absorbers and fall-arrest systems. They will also develop practical skills for using it correctly during activities. As a result, they will strengthen accident prevention, reduce fall risks and help create a safer, more controlled workplace.
