Course: Total Productive Maintenance
At JS Training & Consulting, we have developed our TPM Total Productive Maintenance course specifically to eliminate production losses caused by equipment condition and keep machinery operating at maximum capacity. This program comprehensively addresses the needs of maintenance, production and operations personnel, from implementing autonomous maintenance to advanced predictive techniques. It offers a complete solution for organizations seeking zero breakdowns, zero downtime and zero defects related to equipment condition.
Your employees will be able to implement 5S and ANDON, apply preventive and predictive maintenance using techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography and tribology, develop the 12-step TPM program and use overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) indicators. The program also promotes Kaizen philosophy, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and skills that maximize equipment life, reduce operating costs and ensure expected quality without unplanned stoppages.
Our in-person and live virtual courses are designed for groups of at least 15 people. If you require this training for a small group (1 to 4 people) or individually, click the following button to get to know the available options:
Course objectives
Understanding Maintenance Importance
First, participants will learn the strategic importance of maintenance within the organization and its impact on productivity. They will also understand global trends in Lean manufacturing and TPM's evolution. They will therefore be able to identify the six major losses affecting equipment efficiency.
Maximization of the Effectiveness of Work Teams
They will also learn in detail about the machines and facilities they operate: their characteristics, capacities and criticality. They will master techniques to maximize overall equipment effectiveness, keeping equipment ready to produce at maximum capacity with the expected quality.
Implementation of TPM at the Organization
Participants obtain tools to launch TPM through the 12-step program. They systematically implement autonomous, preventive and predictive maintenance and learn to use Kaizen teams and continuous improvement events to optimize operational performance.
Cost Reduction and Reliability
Finally, participants understand how to reduce equipment life-cycle costs. They apply Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) using key indicators, then use Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and AMEFM. They achieve zero breakdowns, zero downtime and no loss of performance or production capacity.
Results at the end of the course
Detailed Knowledge of the Equipment
First, participants will learn in detail how to maximize equipment effectiveness using OEE indicators. They will also master the characteristics, capacities and criticality of machines and facilities. They will therefore identify opportunities to improve equipment performance.
Successful implementation of TPM
Participants will also gain tools to launch TPM in their organization following the 12-step program. They can implement autonomous maintenance using 5’S and effective ANDON systems, and develop Kaizen teams and continuous improvement events to eliminate the 6 major losses.
Mastery of Maintenance Techniques
You will also apply preventive maintenance techniques involving design, planning and Poka Yoke controls. You will implement predictive maintenance through vibration analysis, thermography, tribology, ultrasound and lubricant analysis, anticipating failures and optimizing equipment reliability.
Reduction of Life Cycle Costs
You will also understand how to reduce equipment life-cycle costs through effective maintenance strategies. You will apply reliability concepts (RCM), AMEFM and failure analysis using tree diagrams. As a result, you will eliminate unplanned breakdowns and unproductive downtime.
Measurement and Evaluation of Results
Finally, you can assess TPM implementation using effectiveness indicators and systematically collect evidence of Total Productive Maintenance. You will achieve zero defects attributable to poor equipment condition, keeping equipment operating at maximum capacity with the expected quality and no performance losses.
Intended audience
Maintenance personnel that seek to optimize the management of work equipment and installations.
