Leaders in professional training:
Cutting and Welding: Hot Work Safety
At JS Training & Consulting, we have developed our NOM-027 cutting and welding course specifically to provide workers with all the relevant information about the hazards and risks involved in cutting and welding activities. This program also establishes workplace safety and hygiene conditions to prevent occupational risks during these activities, based on NOM-027-STPS-2008. It offers a comprehensive solution for maintenance personnel, supervisors and anyone involved in welding and cutting who seeks to comply with applicable regulations while protecting their physical safety
Your employees can thus learn employers' obligations, analyze potential risks, apply safety measures in cutting and welding workshops, prevent fires and accidents, use personal protective equipment (EPP) correctly and prepare safe work permits. The course also promotes knowledge of fumes and gases, electrical and mechanical hazards, radiation, good welding practices and authorization procedures that make cutting and welding safe, controlled operations complying with Mexican regulations.
Course objectives
Development of communication skills
First, participants will develop new communication skills for public speaking. They will also learn to organize and create visual aids for their presentations. They will therefore be able to convey their ideas more effectively and professionally.
Public Speaking and Voice Use Techniques
Participants will also learn specialized techniques for speaking confidently in public. They will thereby master the proper use of their voice and visual feedback. Consequently, they will naturally capture and maintain their audience’s attention.
Structure of Effective Presentations
Participants will also learn to structure presentations that are brief, concise, and appropriate to the context. They will therefore create a positive first impression from their opening words. In particular, they will learn how to use the opening as the foundation for a successful presentation.
Improvisation and Control of Groups
Finally, participants will develop effective improvisation skills for unexpected situations and learn to handle difficult or negative audiences. They will apply group management and emotion regulation techniques, overcoming stage fright and presenting confidently before any audience.
Results at the end of the course
Implementation of Safety Measures
First, participants will be able to implement safety measures in their work area to comply with NOM-027-STPS-2008. They will also learn the employer's obligations and the required safety and hygiene conditions. They will therefore be able to prevent occupational risks during welding and cutting activities.
Risk analysis and prevention
You will also conduct potential risk analyses, identifying the specific hazards of cutting and welding activities. You will implement measures to prevent fires, control fumes and gases, and avoid electrical and mechanical hazards, significantly reducing the likelihood of workplace accidents and injuries.
Correct Use of PPE (EPP) and Good Practices
Participants will also correctly use personal protective equipment throughout all activities, applying good welding practices and safety procedures for different welding types. They will understand how to avoid overexposure to radiation, noise and extreme temperatures.
Procedures and Authorisation Under Standard
Finally, participants will prepare safe work permits and authorization procedures under NOM-027-STPS-2008. They will establish control and verification systems for hot work, making cutting and welding safe, controlled and fully compliant operations that protect workers' physical integrity and reduce occupational risks in the organization.
