COURSE OBJECTIVES
Improvement of Process Times
First, participants will learn to improve production process times using the SMED methodology. They will understand how to measure and analyze times during changeovers, identifying immediate opportunities to reduce operating times.
Maximization of Value Activities
They will also learn to maximize activities that add real value to the process. They will identify and separate changeover activities into internal and external ones, converting internal activities into external ones for greater efficiency.
Minimizing Changeover Times

Relationship between SMED and 5's
Finally, they will learn the strategic relationship between SMED and the 5S methodology, understanding how these tools complement each other for continuous improvement.
